About New Life.
New Life Presbyterian Church is located in the Gungahlin region of Canberra – a wonderful city that draws people from all over the world and aspires to achieve big things.
Canberra is known by the CBR-slogan: Confident. Bold. Ready.
Confident in grace
Bold in prayer
Ready for making Jesus known
The mission of New Life is Jesus’ mission:
Making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ who are living proof of a loving God to a watching world.
Our existence as a church and as individuals is dependent on God. God made us, loves us and invites us into his plans for eternity. God’s plans are centred on Jesus and captured by his command in the Bible:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
[Matthew 28:18-20 NIV]

Our staff are supported financially to serve the church full-time. Each of them have completed training in theology and leadership. The New Life Staff Team is Russell, Tim and Brock.
Where are we going?
Gungahlin is growing! New Life has seen Gungahlin grow by more than 30,000 people in the last 2 decades with approximately another 20,000 people to move here in the next decade. We believe God is leading us to become
a large healthy community based church in multiple congregations that is welcoming others and prepared for a long future of reaching out to a large local community.
The health of New Life will be reflected in the connectedness of Small Groups to New Life members & engagement of New Life members in reaching out to the lost with the gospel and those in need with care.
What do we do?
We are committed to seeing all people at New Life connect in with God. Connectedness to God is a personal relationship of faith in Jesus. It is nurtured by God through Bible reading, prayer and the support of other Christians. So we are also committed to seeing all people at New Life connect in with one another. Connectedness to one another is expressed in every gathering of New Life (large, small, formal and informal).
We are entrusted with the responsibility to build up all people at New Life in godliness. Christian discipleship is a life of continual growth in character and convictions nurtured by God through Bible reading, prayer and the support of other Christians. We are also entrusted with the responsibility to build up all people at New Life in service. Christian service of God, his people and the world is enabled by the encouragement of gifts and learning of skills.
We are committed to enabling all people at New Life to reach out to the world with the gospel through deliberate partnerships with commissioned gospel missionaries. This includes Sil Ruddle in Benin and Kellie Nicholas in Japan. We are also committed to enabling all people at New Life to reach out to our neighbours with the gospel shared in personal relationships. And we encourage all people at New Life to reach out to those in need (locally and globally). This is particularly achieved through partnerships with Jericho Road, Compassion and TEAR.
